This is the privacy policy of MITC. It applies only to personal data as defined in Section 1 of the 1998 Data Protection Act ("personal information" or "information") and not other types of business or general information. This is information that enables you to be identified, such as your name, address and email address. The policy tells you who we are, how we collect personal information about you through this website, what we intend to use that information for, with whom we intend to share it, and how we keep it secure. 

MITC is registered with the Information Commissioner responsible for the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts and we are committed to the protection of your privacy. All personal information given to us through this website will only be held and used in accordance with this policy and the Data Protection Act 1998. Please read this policy carefully. By accessing or using this website you are deemed to agree to the terms of this privacy policy, and if you do not agree with it, then you must not send us any personal information. 

As a registered data controller, we are required to take appropriate technical measures to protect your personal information including making a regular backup of our system and data. We have security measures in place to make sure any personal information we collect is secure. All parties with access to your information are subject to confidentiality obligations. Even though we take appropriate technical steps to protect your security, you should remember that data transmission over the internet cannot always be guaranteed as 100% secure so you use the website at your own risk.

The information we collect during the registration process 
When you register for a course with us, you (or the person registering for you) must tell us: 
• your full name, 
• your title, 
• your business address (and correspondence address if different), 
• your personal address if not a business booking, 
• your primary telephone number, 
• your email address. 

Following registration via the website, we may request additional personal data from you in order to further support your training. You do not have to provide this information, but if you do not, you may not get the most out of your training.

When you give us information about another person, the other person must have agreed to let: 
• us process all their personal data; and 
• you receive any data protection notices for them. 

When you send information for someone else, you are confirming that you have told them : 
• which data they must give; 
• which information is voluntary; and 
• how they can access and, if necessary, correct the data we hold about them.

We may need to give your information to our service providers, agents, professional advisors and auditors and to your instructor(s). When you register on a course, we will tell you which of our approved learning providers will be delivering and supporting your learning. Following registration via the website, your tutor will be provided with your name, address (company or personal address as provided to us), and email address.

Information automatically collected and stored
We will not collect any personal information about you except where it is specifically and knowingly provided by you e.g. if you request information from us or provide feedback on the website.

When personal information is collected, it may be used by us to corroborate your identity, to process and fulfil requests for information or help us to develop the website to make it more useful to you.

Cookies are small text files sent to your computer. We do not use them on this website but retain the right to use them in the future. Although cookies contain identifying information, they do not contain any information that identifies you personally, but they allow us to recognise you when you return to our website. If you do not want to accept a cookie when you visit our website, you should be able to change the settings in your browser to disable this function, but there might be sections of the site that you are unable to access - in general, those sections for which you have specifically registered.
